A whole year's date list had  to be abandoned when the country went into lockdown in March. The fringe events like the Yacht Club singaround were likewise forced to close. But April saw the launch of the Virtual Yacht Club, a weekly Zoom singaround, which attracted participants from all over the country and even one or two from overseas. Whilst not the  same as meeting in person, any attempt to sing a chorus together resulting in chaos, the VYC proved to be a musical lifeline for many.
